This release was pretty special as we experienced a major database failure and we now need to start everything from scratch. You can find more about that in this post: https://fediverse.blog/~/Prismo/on-prismo-data-loss

After this incident, we moved Prismo stack to a more modern setup including Portainer and CI. Daily backups are also in place. I should publish example portainer config file soon so anyone can start his own instance easily.

What's in 0.5:

  • Search - users can now search stories and comments using a search form.
  • Accounts deletion - you can now delete your prismo account in your profile settings.
  • New frontend setup - we've been using some third-party frontend frameworks 'till 0.4. We were totally not happy with them + they were slowing us down. That's why we decided to simplify our stack using a custom solution based on https://codyhouse.co/ds/get-started
  • Nodeinfo 2.0 support
  • Original Poster (OP) mark in comments section so you can know who is who

Whats coming up next

0.6 will be focused around following tags and having your own personalized dashboard with accounts and tags you follow. Also, we're gonna work on implementing Webmentions (https://indieweb.org/Webmention).

Any frontend-related tasks (like dark theme) are paused in the 0.6 as 0.7 is gonna be mostly about separation of backend and frontend. After 0.7 is out, we can finally start working on a proper federation between instances.
